Corrie fans raging as Kelly Neelan is released from prison

Corrie viewers were left raging over life-changing news for Kelly Neelan as she was released from prison.

Kelly was jailed back in September for the brutal murder of Seb Franklin after being framed by former friend and gang leader Corey Brent.

The teenager was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 15 years, but the conviction has now been quashed after evil Corey confessed.

Kelly was overjoyed as a judge said the original verdict was unsafe and that the Crown Prosecution Service would not be seeking a retrial.

Corey was soley responsible for kicking Seb, as Kelly tried to hold him back, during the vile gang attack in May.

However fuming viewers remembered that Kelly had gone to check on Seb after Corey fled, but she also ran away after hearing him making noises.

And earlier, when the couple ran into Corey's gang on a romantic walk along the canal, Kelly had slapped goth Nina across the face after being egged on by the baying yobs.

"Kelly shouldn't be let out just yet," complained one viewer.

"Kelly is vile, this attempt to portray her as a Saint. Hell NO!" raged another.

Nina told her exactly what she thought (ITV)

"But Kelly still was involved? she hit Nina first did she not?" asked another.

"She is not a victim at all in this and the attempt to paint her as one is not right. She may not have had a part in Seb’s death but she still assaulted Nina and went along with the abuse."

"Corrie really want us to see Kelly as a victim don’t they?" asked another.

And another said: "This is my last tweet about Kelly tonight. Like how Kelly's suddenly written that she's an awesome, lovely big sister who would never hurt a fly.

"I'm not buying it. Nina and Seb are the only people I feel sorry for in this storyline!"

And in the soap, grieving Nina was furious to see Kelly back in Weatherfield.

"You make it sound like it was just so random. You assaulted me. Set the whole thing in motion," she seethed.

"You ran away leaving Seb to die. It didn't just happen. You made it happen."

And when Kelly responded that she didn't blame her for 'hating' her, Nina blasted: "You selfish little cow.

"You just want me to say that everything's cool between us and carry on living your life.

"Never gonna happen."

Other fans celebrated her release.

"Kelly has been released and justice has finally be served. I'm so happy for Kelly," cheered one.

"Am I the only one that understands Kelly’s situation and actually agrees that she should have been let off?" asked another.

But after receiving good news, things are looking bleak for Kelly after she opted to leave Imran Habeeb and Toyah Battersby's foster home to go in supported accommodation because they are now caring for a four-year-old girl called Elsie.

She went to her new home to find the word 'murderer' sprayed on the wall.
