Coronation Street fans have been left infuriated with Jack Webster for standing by as Liam Windass choked.
In Monday night's episode, Maria Windass acknowledged that son Liam was suffering from a cough and believed it was a minor chest infection.
However, later on in the night, as Maria became distracted by a tense conversation about parking congestion on the street with Sally Metcalfe, Liam played with Jack Webster across the road.
Yet, as they interacted, Liam collapsed in a coughing fit as he choked and struggled to breathe.
Throughout the terrifying health scare, Jack stood still rather emotionlessly as Liam coughed furiously, with Maria still distracted by Sally.

After some delay, Jack called out to Maria and she rushed to attend to her son as an ambulance was called.
Later scenes will reveal that Liam is suffering from asthma that has likely been aggravated by pollution on the street.
However, fans at home were more aggravated by Jack's inaction during the scary moment for Liam.
One person penned on Twitter : "Jack took his time getting Maria over. He just stood there like a lemon".

A different Corrie viewer commented: "Corrie is so pathetic sometimes hahaha, Maria's son having a cough for few days and not even considering covid and Jack just standing there watching him basically choking #corrie ".
Meanwhile, another fan of the ITV soap opera noted: "Is Jack on a reality delay? F***ing idiot standing there like a friggin guy fawkes!! #Corrie ".
Elsewhere, one Coronation Street viewer tweeted: "Wtf is Jack doing just standing #Corrie ".

Another added: "Two things don't make sense on tonight's #corrie . Jack just standing there while Liam is on the floor gasping for breath, and the fact Liam has a cough and no1 thinks of the pandemic? Maria even lets him go off to play with a cough".
Finally, one Twitter user concluded: "What the hell took Jack so long to call for help, it's like he was in a trance [eye roll emoji] #Corrie "
Maybe Hope Stape is not the only kid we need to keep an eye on!
