Corrie fans point out Gary's obvious error as he hunts for Kelly's kidnapper

Coronation Street fans have spotted an error by Gary Windass - as he tried to save a kidnapped Kelly Neelan.

The ITV soap aired dramatic scenes tonight as Kelly remained imprisoned by her captor, who is an old associate of her dad Rick Neelan. Rick was killed by Gary - currently unbeknownst to everyone except Maria - but now she is aware of his death, she has been trying to pay back those that her father did wrong, but she stumbled on the wrong person.

Her captor has now locked her away and told her to send a text to let people know she was ok, so they wouldn't come looking for her - but a clever trick made Gary suspicious and he soon realised she was in trouble.

In the text, she asked Gary to let her mum know she's ok - with her mum Laura having recently died, so fans were convinced it was a clever ploy to alert Gary that she was in trouble and needed help.

Worried, Gary went to go and try and locate her, but left his phone at home. When she called him using the voice activation on her phone, it went to answerphone and she wasn't able to leave a message before she was caught.

However, some fans were concerned why Gary couldn't just use the Find My Phone app on Kelly's phone to locate where she was.

"oh #Corrie as if she doesn't have find my phone or life360 so they know exactly where she is," one fan wrote online, as another added: "they haven’t thought of FIND MY PHONE APP yet #Corrie."

A third shared: "Find My Phone #Gary, use FIND MY PHONE!?! #coronationstreet #Corrie," with a fourth frustrated fan penning: "Get Kelly's phone location - easy enough. Two calls and a text message from her phone. Find my phone (or whatever)! #corrie."

He wants £50,000 cash to release her (ITV)

Other viewers urged Gary to contact the police after the man threatened to harm her without a payment of £50,000.

One said: "Right, so now there's been a definite threat, you can contact the police and they can trace her phone!*! #Corrie," with a second adding: " #ITV #Corrie why didn't Kelly just phone the police instead of Gary ?? I hope she gets out ..soap land."
