Corrie fans perplexed as Curtis' facial hair grows between scenes in blunder

Corrie fans were left baffled during last night's episode after Curtis Delamere's beard mysteriously grew between scenes.

Curtis, played by Sam Retford, sometimes sported stubble, but on other occasions he had a smooth chin.

The hilarious gaffe appears to have been caused because scenes are filmed out of order.

In the episode Steve McDonald was worried about his daughter Emma Brooker having her heart broken by her new boyfriend Curtis after he broke it off her.

Curtis hinted to Steve that he had cheated on her when he had decided to pull the plug on the relationship - later revealed to be because he could die from a terminal heart condition, which could see him "drop dead" at any second.

But he was finally forced to admit that he didn’t want Emma to get too close as he is seriously ill.

Despite the sombre scenes fans were distracted by Sam's character's facial hair.

One viewer wrote: "Curtis' secret seems to be a beard that grows, disappears and regrows multiple times a day."

Another puzzled fan said: "Curtis’ beard stubble changing from scene to scene is making me laugh."

A third wrote: "That beard/stubble on Curtis really comes and goes between scenes @itvcorrie#corrie #continuity #beard."

Actor Sam has admitted his new Corrie character is nothing like the ones he has played before - and he’s been in some big TV shows.

The 22-year-old actor was born in New South Wales, Australia, but his family relocated to Crewe when he was a child.

Sam was "always the loudest" in the class and clearly destined to be in front of an audience but originally he wanted to be a marine biologist.

But his first major role was as Cory Wilson in Channel 4 school drama Ackley Bridge between 2017 and 2019.

During three series his character was involved in some dramatic storylines, including domestic abuse, his sexuality and an illegal romance with a teacher.

He went on to appear in Casualty and Death in Paradise before getting his big break on Coronation Street this year.

Sam was in quite a strange scenario when his manager phoned to reveal he had secured the Corrie role.

He was on the M60 motorway with a set of 8ft long school lockers hanging out the back of his car because he was building a film studio at the time.
