Corrie Fans Left Stunned as Daisy Star Drops Accent Bombshell and Teases Explosive Exit

Coronation Street fans were left gobsmacked after actress Charlotte Jordan, known for playing fiery barmaid Daisy Midgeley, appeared on This Morning – and spoke in her real accent.

The 30-year-old actress, who’s been a staple on the cobbles with her convincing Northern twang, stunned viewers when she opened her mouth and out came… Surrey. That’s right – Charlotte isn’t a Manc at all, reported OK! Magazine.

As she chatted with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about her dramatic exit from the soap, fans rushed to social media to share their shock. X (formerly Twitter) lit up with comments like: “I didn’t expect Daisy to sound like that! Great northern accent #thismorning”, “She suits the Manc accent that she acts with #thismorning” and “Her voice?!”

But the surprises didn’t stop there. Charlotte also revealed she’s got an exciting new gig lined up, dropping a little teaser about joining The Archers. “So yes, I start very soon, I can’t say much about it, but the character will ruffle some feathers, that’s all I can say!” she said, keeping fans guessing.

Back on Corrie, Daisy’s final scenes are shaping up to be must-watch TV. After a rollercoaster storyline full of heartbreak, lies, and love triangles, Daisy’s departure is being billed as an ‘explosive exit’. Expect emotional showdowns, especially when Jenny Connor begs her not to go, and a heartfelt chat with Daniel Osbourne could throw everything into question.

Speaking to This Morning, Charlotte admitted it was her decision to leave, but she couldn’t be more grateful for how the show handled it. “They’ve been really good to me,” she said. “When I said: ‘I think it’s time for me to go,’ I was fully prepared for them to sort of run me over. Fair enough! I was very, very grateful that they’ve left the door open and said if I’d like to come back, I can – so very sweet.”

She also reflected on her character’s journey and the personal impact the show has had on her. “I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy to be leaving. Weatherfield has been her home for a while… but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her,” she said. “I’m feeling really grateful for my years on the show and the people I’ve gotten to work with.”

As for whether it’s goodbye or just “see you later,” Charlotte left the door open, just like the Corrie team. For now, viewers will have to brace themselves for Daisy’s final scenes and keep an ear out for Charlotte’s unexpected southern tones.
