Corrie fans in stitches as Sally finds interesting way to protect herself against coronavirus

Coronation Street's Sally Metcalfe is taking no chances when she heads out and about on the cobbles.

The factory worker has left fans of the ITV soap in stitches thanks to the interesting way she has chosen to protect herself against coronavirus.

During Monday night's episode it became more obvious that the troubles of the real world had firmly made there way on to the street with social distancing and mask rules in place.

While Sally paid a visit to Roy's Rolls, she then found herself being confronted by husband Tim's mum who viewers discovered had escaped his abusive dad Geoff when he was a baby.

But Corrie viewers were distracted despite the drama of the storyline thanks to Sally's own protective equipment - a pair of marigolds.

One said: "Sally’s rubber gloves could be a new trend."

"Inspired to have Sally wearing marigold gloves as Covid protection #Corrie," commented another.

A third added: "#corrie I love that Sally is wearing yellow rubber gloves."

"#Corrie Sally still doing best to boost marigold rubber glove sales but still missing the matching yellow facemask," another said.

"Sally's hands must be sweating in those marigolds #Corrie," joked a viewer.

A final comment read: "Sally still rocking the marigolds.. honestly THE most sally thing going."

And it's not the first thing viewers have noticed after they questioned Maria Connor's actions as she visited her man Gary Windass in hospital.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
