Corrie fans in hysterics as the soap brings back Voggle - and viewers have asked if it's real

Coronation Street fans were in hysterics as the ITV soap brought back its imaginary search engine Voggle.

Over the years the fake website has been used by various characters since 2010.

Nick Tilsley and his brother David Platt have turned to Voggle over the year, leaving fans questioning if it's real.

After Nick used it to look up properties to rent in Edinburgh @pbasset12 took to Twitter to ask Corrie: "Is that real website?"

Tim used it for research (ITV)

In 2019 it featured in Vicky Jefferies' pregnancy scare storyline.

A heartbroken Vicky, played by Kerri Quinn, was looking up abortion clinics after being dumped by Robert Preston but viewers were distracted by the website.

And they were delighted to see it crop up again in Tuesday's episode (January 5) as a worried Tim Metcalfe did some research ahead of his impending heart operation.

@aaabbb3 tweeted with a stream of laughing faces: "Voggle??"

@TavernHoyden exclaimed: "VOGGLE KLAXON!

@benji70 said: "Good old 'Voggle' is getting a lot of exposure tonight."

@HildaOgdenOnSea joked: "Will you accept pop-ups from #ChitChat and #Hiya!?"

But @Davenoisome pointed out: "#Corrie I've googled Voggle but nothing came up."

Although the search engine isn't real, voggle.co.uk directs fans to the unofficial Coronation Street podcast The Talk Of The Street.

The Sun previously reported that Corrie has used Voggle since 2010 as the ITV soap only features brands that have a product placement deal with them such as Co-Op and Costa who advertise and have branches on set.

Corrie has also featured the fake social media site 'Face Space' instead of Facebook.
