Corrie fans in disbelief as they spot famous face in violent prison drama Time

Coronation Street fans were surprised to see Luke Britton (AKA Dean Fagan) from the soap in new prison drama Time.

Dean left the cobbles when his character Luke was murdered in a car fireball in 2018.

Instantly fans recognised the actor when he returned to the small screen with an appearance in new drama Time.

Among the sea of comments, one read: "You're welcome. Luke from Coronation Street was one of the other prisoners...the one that took the sugar. Just in case you were wondering about him as well."

Dean starred alongside big names Game of Thrones star Sean Bean and Line of Duty actor Stephen Graham.

Blink and you would miss the chilling scenes in Time where Dean's scheming inmate character boil sugar in a kettle and set up another jailbird for an attack.

While he only featured in two scenes, the former soap star didn't go unnoticed by his biggest fans.

Social media was flooded with fans commenting on Dean's appearance in the new drama.

Others wrote: "That’s Luke off Corrie #Time."

"It's Luke from Corrie! #Time."

"Nice to see Dean Fagan in #Time."

Dean starred on Coronation Street as Luke from 2014 until his character's murder in 2018.

Admittedly the actor said he was "excited" his character was killed off by serial killer Pat Phelan for his exit storyline.

He told The Manchester Evening News at the time: “I was excited to realise I was going to be a pivotal part of the start of Phelan’s demise, the start of the unravelling, that someone else has found out the truth and he has now killed again which is a desperate act and one that is going to eventually start more questions being asked.

"The Phelan era is huge and he has played such a massive part in the street so to be involved in that is brilliant. Luke will play his part in the whole end game.”
