Corrie fans have so many questions as Debbie and Kevin are finally freed from the fridge

They've been in the fridge since Friday's episodes and Debbie and Kevin Webster have finally been freed from their chilly confines on Corrie.

The brother and sister were trapped inside the bistro fridge by dastardly businessman Ray Crosby in revenge for Debbie double-crossing him.

In tonight's Coronation Street double bill Kevin's girlfriend and fellow mechanic Abi Franklin managed to jemmy the broken door open and slumped to the floor in distress when she found her man and his sibling inside.

"Everyone in the country watching is shouting at the TV," said one viewer as they urged Abi to find them.

And viewers also had so many questions.

Mechanic Kevin, played by Michael Le Vell since 1983, eventually spoke to Abi and was seen being wheeled away into an ambulance.

But fans were worried for Debbie, played by Sue Devaney, who returned to the soap last year in a plot that revealed her involvement with conniving hotelier Ray.

"Is Debbie dead?" one asked on Twitter.

Another asked: "A car mechanic either side of a locked freezer door and neither mechanic seems to know how to open a door which has a broken handle."

Another tweeted: "Right, Kevin is a mechanic! He's locked in a fridge with the handle smashed off, surely he could use his knowledge to devise a new handle or something to open the door with what's in that fridge."

Others asked if there's 'only one policeman' in Weatherfield as Craig Tinker was the first officer on the scene, and he later turned up at the airport to arrest Ray before he fled the country.

"Craig on Corrie is the street's very own Columbo," tweeted one.

"PC Craig singlehandedly fighting crime on the mean streets of Weatherfield," said another.

Another soap watcher commented: "PC Tinker single handedly fighting ALL of the crime. He must have commendations coming out of his ears!"

"How much can Craig do in one evening?" another wondered.

And another asked: "Where would Manchester be without PC Craigey?"

Then hearts were warmed after the fridge drama when Abi popped the question to Kev in hospital.

"Kev just marry me eh?" she asked after nervously scrabbling for the right words to say.

"Of course I will," he replied from his hospital bed.

But viewers were still left asking if her future sister-in-law to-be had survived.

"So is Debbie alive or?" asked one about the cliffhanger.

"Did then mention how Debbie was doing - if she survived??" asked another.
