Corrie fans go wild as star reveals 'hot' new look after lockdown

Coronation Street bosses said viewers might notice some changes as filming resumed after lockdown - and fans went wild as one character showcased a stylish new look.

Solicitor Imran Habeeb appeared to have had a makeover as he visited Leanne Battersby and Nick Tilsley's flat in Corrie scenes screened on Wednesday night.

He was sporting a shorter haircut which one fan described as 'hot.'

"Imran looks rather hot with a fresh hair cut and a tan," they tweeted.

And another approving fan commented that he looked like a model.

They wrote: "Imran is looking more styled than ever tonight. He looks like he's just stepped off a catwalk."

"Ahhh I just LOVE Imran," another swooned.

Imran actor Charlie de Melo completely shaved his head during lockdown, which looked dramatically different from his usual thick mane of floppy hair when he unveiled the look back in April.

"Sorry but that isn’t you. Imposter," messaged Lucy Fallon who played Bethany Platt.

And Ryan Clayton, who played Josh Tucker in the soap, said: "Gonna be Corrie’s Answer to Phil Mitchell when you go back."

Eagle-eyed Corrie fans are now on the lookout for discrepancies after the much-loved soap was left with some half-filmed episodes when filming was called to a halt back in March.

"The Leanne/Nick/Imran scene from tonight’s @itvcorrie was interesting," said another soap watcher.

"Both Nick and Imran looked different and none of the characters went anywhere near each other. Have we just seen a newly filmed scene for the first time?"

In Monday night's episode Nick Tilsley, played by Ben Price, switched hair colour from silver grey to blonde in the same episode and appeared to grow a beard.

The first scene featuring Nick with longer silver hair was filmed after the cast returned to work last month.

Cast and crew completed unfinished episodes shot before the pandemic while adhering to strict new social distancing guidelines.

Producer Iain McLeod previously said viewers may notice storylines featuring social distancing where it wasn't included previously.

But he's hoping fans will be understanding of the situation.

"We've got a mature audience and they understand the world we live in," he told us.
