Corrie fans fuming as 'gullible' Emma falls for Curtis' lies about heart condition

Coronation Street viewers were not impressed with Emma Brooker as they tuned into Tuesday night's episode.

The latest instalment of the ITV soap saw Emma confront her fiancé Curtis Delamere over his life-threatening illness.

Monday's episode ended with Emma (Alexandra Mardell) looking confused as a doctor informed her that Curtis' heart medication was actually vitamins.

Understandably, Emma was shocked and became tearful on Tuesday when Curtis (Sam Retford) arrived home pretending that everything was okay.

As Emma told Curtis about his so-called heart medication, he then became defensive and upset and accused her of not believing him.

He went to lie some more and told Emma that he had found his own way of dealing with and treating his heart condition.

"Maybe I've turned my back in Western medicine and found a specific plan, one that Western doctors frown upon and so do you apparently," he told her.

"Well I have, I've found this regime, this holistic regime, plant-based, homeopathic. Those doctors up at the hospital, they can't do anything for me. I've been forced to take this into my own hands."

"Wait, you're confusing me," Emma told him as Curtis continued: "It's okay, it's alright. All you need to know is that I am dying."

"Are you? Really?" Emma asked him as he told her: "Really. And my own fiancée doesn't believe me, do you know how much that hurts? All I want is a hug and to be told that everything's going to be alright."

As the episode came to an end, it looked like Emma was feeling sympathetic for Curtis and may end up believing him.

Corrie fans were fuming and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: "Only the stupidity and gullibility of a woman saved that Curtis story from ending. Fuming here with Emma…. #Corrie."

Another wrote: "Curtis is such a manipulative t*at and I wish Emma wasn’t so gullible. #Corrie."

Many Corrie fans branded Emma as 'gullible' as she appeared to soften during her chat with Curtis (ITV)

A third person predicted: "Poor Emma. A lifetime of terrible relationship choices awaits. #Corrie."

A fourth person added: "In what world would plant based vitamins help with an incurable heart condition. if Emma believes this rubbish then it’s her own fault when it all comes crashing down. #Corrie."

And someone else simply urged her: "Emma just run for the hills dear! #Corrie."
