Corrie fans fear Stu will die as Zeedan cruelly blames him for fire at Speed Daal

Coronation Street ended on a cliffhanger on Friday evening as Stu was seen fighting for his life in hospital.

The latest instalment of the ITV soap saw Speed Daal go up in flames after Zeedan Nazir agreed to a dodgy deal with former father-in-law Hashim.

Unbeknownst to Zeedan, homeless character Stu (Bill Fellows) was in the restaurant after Yasmeen asked him to work a trial shift.

When Hashim's dodgy men started the blaze, Stu ended up trapped inside as a sheepish Zeedan rushed home.

However, moments later he was shocked when residents banged on the front door after spotting smoke at Speed Daal.

Coronation Street's Zeedan made some pretty awful choices during Friday night's episode of the ITV soap (ITV)

Zeedan rushed back and ended up going inside and pulling Stu from the building and he was then taken away in an ambulance.

As Yasmeen questioned how the fire could have started, she began to blame herself for giving Stu the keys.

"It looks like the fire was started by the deep fat fryer," she told Zeedan and Alya, as he quickly replied: "Stu must have left it on by mistake."

Alya was absolutely disgusted with her brother's lie as she was already fully aware that he and Hashim were to blame for the fire.

As they stood in the hospital, out of Yasmeen's ear shot, Alya told him: "How could you do that? Blame it on Stu...

"Me and you, we're done, so you better hope Stu lives because if he doesn't, I'll tell the police exactly who was responsible."

Zeedan looked panicked at the thought of his sister telling the truth, and viewers were left fearing for poor Stu.

Taking to Twitter, one person posted: "I hope Stu is ok #Corrie," while another tweeted: "Stu had better survive that fire #Corrie."

A third viewer pleaded: "Don't kill off Stu now he's becoming a good character #Corrie."

Someone else posted: "I hope Stu doesn't get the blame for the fire #Corrie."

Another person predicted: "Stu to be prosecuted for the fire & Yasmeen done for insurance fraud? #Corrie."

And a different viewer tweeted: "Zeedan acting like he feels bad about the fire 1 minute & blaming Stu the next is disgusting #Corrie."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
