Corrie fans despair as they notice same problem with death storyline and fear Emma is going down for murder

Corrie's Emma Brooker found herself in an even stickier situation as incriminating evidence was discovered in the soap's shock death storyline.

The year got off to a terrible start on Monday for Emma and Faye Windass when they mowed down an elderly man called Ted in Tim Metcalfe's taxi.

The accident happened while Faye was on a driving lesson with Emma who was still a bit tipsy from New Year's Eve.

But when they later returned to check on him they found him dead in his armchair.

In Tuesday night's hour-long episode ditzy Emma was in deep after Tim found Ted's crutch in the car.

And Coronation Street fans were despairing as they all asked the same thing.

@DionPetrie questioned: "They never noticed his crutch #Corrie."

And @fussyMcWhiskers asked: "How didn't Emma & Faye notice that Ted's crutch was in the car?"

While other fans wondered why Ted didn't realise he was missing his crutch.

@mynameisbrooke pointed out: "You’d have thought you’d remember if you forgot an actual crutch."

And @Ladylaurasophia asked: "Seriously how could someone get from a cab to their flat and forget their crutch, when they’d just been knocked over?"

Emma was already in deep after she signed for a parcel at Ted's flat.

And fans watched in horror as she rang police from a phone box anonymously to say she was worried about a 'neighbour' who was alone.

This led to Ted being found and his death being treated as suspicious.

Faye's boyfriend PC Craig Tinker filled them in on the situation in the Rovers, unaware that his girlfriend and her friend are involved.

"We're not sure he was alone," he said.

"He had bruising down one side of his body."

Fans now fear that Emma could go down for murder as a dismissive Faye, who has just been released from prison, told Emma that if they trace the phone call she's on her own.

@carol90783713 commented: "Murder charges impending along with disposing of evidence failing to report a death and WTF else....!! LOL LOL"

RyanGTweetsTV said: "Faye gets even worse she's going to let Emma take all the blame."

And they predicted: "Emma is going to go down."
