Kevin Webster went from mechanic to detective in one episode as he searched for Abi Franklin.
Coronation Street fans were gutted last month Abi brutally dumped her fiance and left the cobbles in emotional scenes.
The grieving mother cruelly told Kev that she had never loved him and was leaving him.
It came after Abi, played by Sally Carman, set her sights on revenge after her son's killer Corey Brent walked away free from court while Kelly Neelan was sent down.

Abi hasn't been since in Weatherfield since and this week, viewers saw Kev ramp up his search.
And he came one step closer to finding Abi when he stumbled across Seb's dad Tez.
After finally informing the police of his partner's disappearance, Kevin made his way to the Dog & Gun pub in the hope someone will have seen Abi.
But when another local entered the pub, Kev knew exactly who he was.
He quizzed Tez and whether he knew where Abi was - before breaking the news that Seb had been murdered.

As Kevin comforted Tez as he shed tears over the news, only for a twist to be played out with viewers seeing Tez take a phone call, claiming it was his probation officer.

But it definitely didn't sound like the case.
"Your fella’s been in sniffing about," he said, clearly speaking to Abi. "If he finds out what we’re up to, I'm out."
The call comes after £2,000 was withdrawn from Abi and Kevin's joint bank account - leading to Corrie fans' speculation about their plans.

Then on Friday night, Kevin was trying to give his best spy impression while trying to get photos of Tez.
But as he continued to snap him, Tez noticed and confronted him.
Kevin told him that he will send a report to his probation officer with the incriminating photo as Tez told him more lies.
Corrie fans, however, couldn't help but point out Kev's errors.

"Ffs Kevin mute your phone, I am surprised you didn't have the flash on as well #Corrie," tweeted one.
Another said: "#Corrie Kevin - spies turn off their phone sounds effects!!"
"Well Kevin isn't great at taking a snaky picture is he #Corrie," a third pointed out.
A fourth added: "Kev, turn the sound off your phone! #Corrie."
"Has Kevin not heard of silent mode? No wonder he hasn’t been snapped up by the MI5. #Corrie #CoronationStreet," another said.
And the sudden change in persona didn't go unnoticed.
""Think I must have missed an episode of #Corrie because I have no idea why Kevin is all cloak and dagger round the back of some hotel bins for the whole episode," one fan said.
Another tweeted: "Little Kev's gone all Miss Marple '#Corrie."

"Kevin's hard all of a sudden then. #Corrie," a third shared.
A fourth added: "Are we supposed to see Kevin as a wizened old tough action type? #Corrie."
When Kev returned home, viewers saw him leave another voicemail on Abi's phone in the hope he'll finally get through to her.
And viewers then saw Abi listening to his heartbreak.

"I love you so much, don't think I ever told you that enough," he told her.
Kev also informed Abi he had reported her as a missing person.
"Aw Kevin's totally heartfelt speech to Abi. Will it actually be enough to win her back & bring her home though?" one fan tweeted.
Another said: "Kevi's heartfelt voicemail to Abi. My heart hearts."
