Warring siblings Kevin and Debbie Webster have been forced to spend time together after being locked in the fridge at the bistro - and Coronation Street fans say the scenes have reminded them of something.
The brother and sister have been trapped inside by villain Ray Crosby.
The sleazy entrepreneur put them in the fridge to get his revenge for former right-hand woman Debbie attempting to double-cross him - and viewers are concerned.
The fridge terror has caused them to cast their minds back to 1998, when a character perished in a freezer on the ITV soap.
Freshco's worker Anne Malone froze to death when she was accidentally locked inside a freezer at the supermarket while getting revenge on her manager Curly Watts for rejecting her.
"RIP Anne Malone," tweeted one fan.
"Accidentally locked in the freezer overnight at Freshco Supermarket Weatherfield October 11th 1998 where she froze to her death.
"Thoughts are currently with Kevin and Debbie in the locked freezer in 2021."
Another viewer wondered if it was a tribute.
"@itvcorrie does Anne Malone get a mention tonight seeing our Kev and Debbie are locked in the freezer?" they asked.
Another said "Enjoying Corrie’s death-by-industrial-freezer storyline. There hasn’t been one of those since Curly’s stalker Anne Malone perished in Freshco’s in 1998."
And another soap watcher urged: "Don’t do an Anne Malone! Hope you get out of there safe and sound - loving Debbie in Corrie."
Michelle Connor and the late Robert Preston also got locked in a freezer on Coronation Street in 2018 after sneaking away for some private time together at the bistro.
They didn't see her son Ryan sneak in to steal some steaks and accidentally nudge the door shut.
Thankfully the frisky pair managed to get out of their predicament.
On Wednesday Kevin's girlfriend Abi Franklin smashes the door open with a crowbar and is horrified to find Kevin and Debbie slumped on the fridge floor, leaving soap watchers wondering if it's too late to save them.
