Corrie fan theories about newcomer Scott's connection to Johnny Connor

Coronation Street fans are intrigued by the arrival of newcomer Scott to the famous cobbles.

Businessman Scott Emberton turned up at the Rovers Return to take on a bed and breakfast room at the boozer run by Jenny and Johnny Connor.

Johnny was uncomfortable to hear that Scott, played by Tom Roberts, is planning to stay with them for a few weeks and quickly started making plans to visit Eva Price and his granddaughter Susie in France, and viewers are wondering what he's hiding.

They saw that Johnny clearly recognised Scott, their new guest, and is now masking his obvious concern.

Viewers took to Twitter with their theories about the mystery man and his link to Johnny, who previously owned the Underworld factory.

Some are wondering if he might be a secret son, after it was previously revealed on the soap that Johnny was Carla Connor's dad.

"Intriguing... I'm very curious about Johnny's secret! Looking forward to this story," said one.

"The guy is not much younger than Johnny or possibly the same age - I reckon school bully," said another.

Next week Carla agrees that she and Peter will move in to run the pub and take care of Scott so Jenny can accompany Johnny to France.

But when John, played by Richard Hawley, comes face to face with Scott, their guest greets him as an old friend.

As Johnny and Jenny leave for the airport, Johnny’s uneasy when Scott assures him there are no hard feelings about the past.

Actor Tom previously starred in the sitcom 2point4 Children, Holby City, EastEnders, Soldier Soldier, Doctors and the Rochdale drama Waterloo Road, and he's been in Corrie before.

He previously played Dr William Gerald in 2013 and 2016, Adam Barlow's solicitor Mr Blake in 2006 and a locum doctor in 2009.
