Coronation Street actor Sam Retford has hinted at what the future could hold for his character Curtis Delamere.
Wednesday's episodes of the ITV soap saw the truth come crashing down on Curtis as it was confirmed that there is nothing physically wrong with him.
Curtis has been lying to his fiancée Emma all along and has made her believe that he has a terminal illness.
He clearly panics when his father Neville shows up and confronts him for lying to Emma, as a doctor expresses concern that Curtis has a Factitious Disorder.
A factitious disorder is a condition in which a person, without a malingering motive, acts as if they have an illness by deliberately producing, feigning, or exaggerating symptoms, purely to attain a patient's role.

It's unsure how Emma will react when she finds out that Curtis isn't really dying, but will it be enough for her to call their wedding off?
Speaking to press recently, actor Sam was asked if Curtis' feelings for Emma are genuine or if they've been a lie too.
He replied: "No, it’s really difficult. I think he got far too deep. She taught him so much about himself but just a bit too late.

"He would do this before with other people but he would leave. He would get what he wanted, not consciously, but once he felt that fulfilment he would feel the risk is too high to stay and he would make up an excuse and run away so he didn’t have to face any more authentic introspection."
Sam continued: "But with Emma it was different because he found someone who it was worth… I think he knew it was going to come up.
"He didn’t have the emotional intelligence per se to bring it up but he knew it would come up and he was almost looking forward to that moment.

"As well as fearing it was going to be the only chance he got, and if she stays she stays, but this would be the only chance to be my authentic self and I think she taught him who that was in him, so yes it’s definitely an authentic adoration," he added.
Sam also revealed that he always knew this was going to be Curtis' storyline and described it as 'an amazing opportunity'.
"I knew from day one, that’s what attracted me to the role so much because certainly in British television it’s not really something that has been spoken about, certainly not at this length.
"I just thought, 'when else am I going to get the opportunity to play the long game with it?'," Sam continued.
"Just an amazing experience to build character and build relationships for the last seven months or so, and always in the back of my mind knowing where it was going. That was huge, it was an amazing opportunity."
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
