Corrie Covid death fears as fans plead for popular character to be saved

Coronation Street fans have been loving newcomer Stu Carpenter since he arrived last month.

But they were left fearing for his life at the end of Monday night's soap double bill (November 29).

The homeless character has been sleeping on the streets of Weatherfield and made his first appearance during Super Soap Week.

Stu was integral to the harrowing Seb Franklin murder storyline after he found the evidence that put Corey Brent behind bars.

He has since befriended Kelly Neelan since she ended up on the streets after being released from prison and she has been grateful for his support.

However tonight she was concerned to notice that her friend had a bad cough.

After being offered a part-time job at the barbers, she told him to spend the night in the shop.

Fans think Stu may have Covid-19 and are worried that he might meet a tragic end.

Viewers took to Twitter to voice their fears.

@mrsjhutch28 said: "I like Stu but looks as if they are going to kill him off."

A worried @mheanes tweeted: "Stu will be found dead in the morning."

@Justin_rafferty commented: "Oh dear Kelly, Stu could be died from covid."

@AndyGibsonTV asked: "Stu has got Coronavirus, hasn't he?"

@Charlotte_K13 tweeted: "I think Stu may die."

@floweroflondon wrote: "We've lost Roy, we can't lose Stu as well."

And @Hed_F1 pleaded: "Please protect Stu at all costs, I love him."

Stu is played by Bill Fellows who has also starred in Vera, Broadchurch and Downton Abbey.

Corrie fans have been calling for Stu to be made a permanent character, saying he would make a good addition to the cobbles.
