Corrie actor leaves beautiful message for co-star Samia Longchambon after feeling 'sad and angry'

Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon was left a beautiful message from her co-star after admitting to feeling 'sad and angry'.

The actress, who plays Maria Windass in the ITV soap, took to Instagram this week with a gorgeous throwback snap.

Samia, 38, was seen looking smiley and relaxed on a 'sunny evening in France' last summer.

But the reality of how she was feeling at the time of her post was very different.

"That’s it. Reading news of everything that’s going on in the world is making me feel sad and angry today so I’m stepping away from it," she shared with her followers.

"Light relief needed… Anyone got any good news / funny facts they can share please?"

She added: "Pic is a #throwback from a beautiful sunny evening in France last summer.. oh to be there again right now!"

Her fellow Corrie star Dan Brocklebank, who plays Archdeacon Billy Mayhew, was among the firs to comment.

Offering his support, he said: "ll tell you some good news darling: Life will be good again. I’m sure of it."

Dan added: "Sending you so much love," to which Samia replied: "Biggest hugs."

Samia was then inundated with messaged from fans sharing their own happy news - from being pregnant with twins to celebrating milestone birthdays.

Others were happy to offer support.

"Life is tough, but so are you," one fan replied.

Another said: "Enjoy the sunshine because you are the sunshine."

"Awww bless you I'm feeling the same so it's hugs all round and hopefully there will be and end to all this craziness one day and hold on to those special moments," a third added.

Another said: "Movie star looks but a natural beauty. You take care sweetheart."

Last month Samia was applauded by her co-stars and fans as she revealed a personal achievement.

Sharing a smiling selfie on Instagram, Samia held up a certificate.

"I'm a little bit proud of myself and wanted to share.." she wrote alongside the post. "After 8 months of studying I’ve got my diploma in CBT! (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

"I’ve tried lots of different ways of dealing with my #anxiety over the years so it’s been really good to learn from the other side of how this kind of therapy works!

"Hopefully now I’ll be able to help myself and others in the future.."

The mum-of-two, who has previously opened up about her own anxiety battle, said she was overwhelmed with the response she had to her news.
