Nov. 03--Governor's race: An article in the Nov. 2 California section about campaign events in the California governor's race said August Schuckman was Gov. Jerry Brown's maternal great-grandfather. Schuckman was his paternal great-grandfather.

Lucy: An article in the Nov. 1 California section about the 1974 discovery of Lucy, the partial skeleton of an ape-like creature, misidentified Lucy's species as Australopithecus africanus. The species is Australopithecus afarensis.
