Coronvirus confirmed at Bristol school with pupils isolating until holidays

Students at a Bristol secondary school have been forced into self isolation - for the last week of term.

Bosses at Bedminster Down School have written to parents today to confirm there has been a confirmed case of coronavirus in year eight.

A number of students have now been told to self isolate. Those needing to self isolate have been written to by the school.

The school is due to close for Christmas at the end of next week.

In a letter home to parents tonight from the school it said: “We have been advised that there has been a confirmed case of Covid 19 within the Bedminster Down School in our year eight group.

“As a result some children in year eight have been asked to self isolate. We will keep this under review.

“If you child is in year eight and needs to self isolate you will have been contacted by separate letter and advised to do so.”

The school has seen hundreds of children forced into self isolation after a number of cases in all year groups since the start of the new term in September.
