A Queensland coroner will examine every interaction a grandmother had with police about her former partner before the pair perished in a house fire hours after her final call for help.
Doreen Langham, 49, had been in a relationship with ex-partner Gary Hely for almost two years, living in a gated community at Logan, south of Brisbane.
On February 9, she took out a temporary protection order against Mr Hely.
About 9pm on Sunday, February 21, she made her final request for help - a triple-zero call to report a disturbance outside her townhouse.
Hours later, Ms Langham was dead.
Her body was found in the burnt-out wreckage of her Browns Plains townhouse alongside Mr Hely.
The fire, which police believe was deliberately lit, engulfed the home on Moyla Street in the early hours of February 22.
A pre-inquest hearing into the deaths before coroner Jane Bentley will delve into what police knew about Ms Langham and Mr Hely before they died and whether that information was shared.
It will also explore the Queensland Police Service response to Ms Langham's triple-zero call on the night of her death.
The coroner will also explore police procedures or policies.
After a brief hearing, the proceedings were adjourned until September 15 for further mention.
A separate police review is also underway, overseen by the Crime and Misconduct Commission.
