Coroner to examine death of 4-day-old baby who died at Nottingham City Hospital

An inquest has opened into the death of a baby who died aged just four days old at Nottingham City Hospital. Kahlani Rawson was born on June 11 last year and died on June 15.

Kahlani was formally identified by mother Miss Rawson after the death at the hospital. Assistant Coroner Fiona Gingell opened the inquest at Nottingham Council House in Old Market Square on Friday (April 1).

The hearing has been adjourned for the completion of further enquiries, and will be resumed on a date to be fixed. City Hospital is run by Nottinghamshire University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust, which also runs services at Queen's Medical Centre.
