Coronavirus: Zoflora disinfectant loved by Mrs Hinch could help kill virus at home

Zoflora has been tipped as an effective disinfectant cleaner against Coronavirus in the home, according to its manufacturer.

The cleaning product already has a cult following among shoppers and is loved cleaning fanatic Mrs Hinch.

Makers of Zoflora say the disinfectant, now a must-have among Mrs Hinch followers, say it "would be effective against coronavirus".

A Zoflora spokesperson said: "Like all other disinfectant products, we have been unable to test efficacy against the specific COVID-19 strain of Coronavirus.

"However, the science suggests that Zoflora would be effective against this strain, as it is against other similar viruses within the standard five minutes contact time."

The popular product can be bought in a number of supermarkets and online retailers including Amazon, Tesco, Wilko, Ocado and Asda, with prices ranging from £1 to £4 for individual bottles.

Huddersfiled-based Thornton and Ross LTD, who make Zoflora added that the disinfectant spray has been proven to kill almost all known germs.

A spokesperson added: "Whilst we are unable to test Zoflora on COVID-19 coronavirus until the strain is released by health authorities, Zoflora disinfectant has been tested against and proven to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including a previous strain of coronavirus, we would expect Zoflora to be effective on this most recent strain, COVID-19 coronavirus."

Mother and housewife Sophie Hinchcliffe became a cleaning phenomenon after posting pictures to her Instagram page of her spotless home.

The Essex-based cleaning maven now has over 3.2million loyal followers on social media, and her huge cult following means many of her 'Hinch Army' fanbase buy the same products she recommends.

Mrs Hinch previously revealed that the secret to a clean and fresh home was her most loved product, Zoflora.

Makers Thornton and Ross LTD had to double production levels of Zoflora following her endorsement.
