A newly engaged woman had to show her grandfather her stunning ring through the window of his care home due to coronavirus fears.
Carly Boyd’s boyfriend popped the question over the weekend and she couldn’t wait to tell her nearest and dearest.
But her grandfather, who has dementia, lives in a care home which has imposed strict restrictions on visitors, meaning she wasn’t allowed to go and see him.
While Carly completely understands the restrictions and is glad everything is being done to keep him safe, she was very upset that she couldn't tell him.
So staff came up with a creative way that she could share the special moment with him, resulting in a very sweet but heartbreaking moment between them.

Carly, who lives in North Carolina, told Kold : "I really wanted to be able to tell my grandfather because he has dementia and there’s no phone in there that he has access to.
"I just really wanted to make an effort to tell him."
Staff were determined to make it happen, so suggested she walked around the building to his window. They then opened the blinds so they could see each other.
Talking about the moment, Carly got very emotional and almost broke down in tears.
She said: "I got really emotional and really sad and I just put my hand on the window, and he put his there too.

"I just told him I love him, and he said ‘I love you too and I hope to see you soon’, like really see you.”
Carly's boyfriend asked her to marry during a romantic walk on the beach, two years after they started dating.
The care home shared the photos on Facebook, with hundreds of people saying the story broke their heart.
The caption read: "Even though visitation is restricted at this time, staff suggested an alternative.
"Here, a resident’s granddaughter tells her grandfather that she’s engaged! Emotional and memorable, for sure.
"Thank you for allowing us to capture this special moment!!"
They're not the first people to communicate this way during self-isolation, and many are sharing photos of the extreme ways they're staying in touch with loved one at this difficult times.
