The UK now has 1,543 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 55 people dying from the disease.
The actual number of infected is thought to be as high as 10,000.
Today details have emerged about 19 of the latest deaths as the number of fatalities climbed to 53 in England, with two in Scotland and Wales.
Four deaths have been revealed at just one hospital trust in London, amid the introduction of new draconian measures to stem the spread of the disease.
The latest deaths were reported at 12 NHS trusts, including in London, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire, Cheshire, Hampshire, Birmingham and County Durham.
University College London Hospital NHS Trust said four of its patients had died.

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS, Wexham Park Hospital, Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recorded two deaths each.
Barts Health NHS, Salisbury NHS Foundation, University Hospital of Southampton, Walsall Healthcare NHS, Mid Cheshire Trust, North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals Birmingham all reported one death each.
All of the patients who passed away were aged between 56 and 94 and had underlying health conditions.

A spokesman for University Hospital Southampton said a 69-year-old man had died after testing positive for the illness.
The spokesman said: "Sadly, we can confirm that a man who was being cared for at University Hospital Southampton and had tested positive for Covid-19, has died.
"The patient was aged 69 and had underlying health conditions.
"His family has been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time."


Alwen Williams, Chief Executive for Barts Health NHS Trust, confirmed a third patient had died after testing positive for the virus.
She said: "Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time."
Two patients in their 80s also died from the disease at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich Common, London.
Ben Travis, Chief Executive for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, said: “The two patients, who died on Saturday 14 March and Sunday 15 March 2020, were in their 80s and had underlying health conditions."


A man in his 50s died at Salisbury District Hospital on Wednesday, while a 69-year-old man also passed away at University Hospital Southampton.
A woman in her 80s was killed by the disease at Walsall Manor Hospital on Thursday.
Two women in their 90s died on Tuesday and Friday at Wexham Park Hospital, in Berkshire.
A man in his mid 60s passed away at Leighton Hospital, in Cheshire, on Sunday.
A man and a woman, aged 82 and 78 respectively, died at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital yesterday.
An elderly patient lost their life to the disease at University Hospital of North Tees.
