Coronavirus | Weekend curfew in Gurugram and eight other districts of Haryana

The Haryana government on Friday imposed weekend lockdown in nine districts of Haryana, including Gurugram.

The lockdown will remain in force from 10 p.m. on April 30 till 5 a.m. on May 3

Besides Gurugram, the lockdown will be in force in Faridabad, Sonipat, Rohtak, Karnal, Panchkula, Hisar, Sirsa and Fatehabad.

The two-page order said residents must stay indoors during the period. No person should leave their homes, move on foot or by vehicle or travel or stand or roam around on roads or in public place during the lockdown, the order said.

However, there will be no curbs on inter-State and intra-State movement of essential and non-essential goods. Vehicles in bonafide transit will be allowed to pass after verification. Similarly, those tasked with law and order, emergency and municipal services, and media persons with accreditation, will be exempted on production of identity card.

Restaurants, hotels and food courts in shopping malls can remain open for home delivery.

Delivery of all essential goods including food, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment through e-commerce, private security services, farming operations, petrol pumps and petroleum and gas retail and storage outlets are also exempted.

Hospitals, veterinary hospitals and all related medical establishments, including pharmacies and dispensaries, are also outside the ambit of the lockdown order. Passengers going to or returning from airport or railway and bus stations are also exempted.

All marriage functions for which prior permission has been taken from the District Magistrates concerned are allowed subject to a ceiling of 30 persons in indoor spaces and 50 persons in open spaces. The DMs have been directed to appoint Executive Magistrates as Incident Commanders in the respective local jurisdictions.
