Coronavirus vaccine, do you want it? Tell us what you think

As Covid-19 cases continue to rise across Bristol, hope is on the horizon with talk of a vaccine.

The pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, working with German biotech company BioNTech, has released interim analysis suggesting their vaccine is more than 90% effective in preventing Covid-19.

It has been tested on 43,500 people in six countries and no safety concerns have been raised.

Pfizer plans to apply to the US regulator the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for emergency approval to use the vaccine by the end of the month.

The analysis was carried out after 94 confirmed cases of Covid-19 were found among those taking part in the trial.

But how do you feel about it? Are you keen to get the vaccine?

Is this the first step to something resembling normality, or is it all too little too late?

In Bristol, as of November 9, 9,136 cases of coronavirus have been recorded. With 283 deaths in Bristol since the beginning of March.

The South West's coronavirus and R rates are down but still among the highest in the country.

The region's R on November 6 is between 1.2 and 1.4, according to the latest Government figures – just down on 1.2 to 1.5 last Friday.

It means, on average, every 10 infected people will pass it on to between 12 and 14 others.

The South West has the joint highest R of any region, along with the South East.
