Coronavirus: Kate Beckinsale thanks pals for caring for parents while she's stuck in US

Kate Beckinsale has expressed her gratitude to friends looking after her elderly parents amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The actress, 46, publicised the kindness of her close pals with a series of screenshots displaying their thoughtful messages on Instagram on Thursday.

Three different friends had reached out to Kate to offer to drive food supplies to the star’s mother Judy, 73, and step-dad Roy, 83.

The mother-of-one has been based in the US while her parents continue to live in England.

UK government have ordered citizens over the age of 70 to stay home in months to come amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Overwhelmed Kate was elated at the love and support she had received from her English friends in “horrid uncertain times”.

Also, the Aviator star hailed a number of friends for their generosity as she pointed out they didn’t even live close to her parents in the UK.

She wrote: “In these horrid uncertain times with everyone trying to look after themselves, so many of my dearest English friends have independently of each other offered to help my mum.

“None of them live nearby and all of them are among the best and kindest people in the world with their own families and responsibilities and fears.

“Within all the terror is the absolute grace of kindness. Let’s all pass it on any way we can.

“It’s the light in the dark. I love you people.”

The screenshots of her friends’ private messages were laid bare for her four million fans on social media to see.

One friend – Sarah K – enquired how Kate’s parents were getting on and even offered to take food round to her parents’ despite being on lockdown themselves.

Another friend – Gabs – offered up her services because she didn’t want to hear about Kate’s mum Judy getting poorly.

A third pal – Chase – also was happy to lend a hand to the television sensation’s parents at this time in need.

Kate also has a grown-up daughter herself and aspiring actress Lily Sheen, 21.

The English rose has brought up Lily with her ex Michael Sheen and the exes remain amicable.
