Coronavirus updates: 14 more deaths and 727 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed

14 more people have died and a total of 727 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed.

The latest figures bring the death toll to 334 and the total number of cases in the Republic of Ireland to 9,655.

An additional 430 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were reported by Irish laboratories and 297 confirmed cases were reported by a laboratory in Germany.

Out of the deaths reported at a Department of Health briefing on Easter Sunday evening, six were women and eight were men.

There were 12 deaths in the east and two in the west.

The median age of the deceased was 80.

Ten of those who passed away had underlying health conditions.

Meanwhile, 11 more people have died from the coronavirus in Northern Ireland.

These new figures bring the total number of Covid-19 related deaths in the North to 118.

And the Public Health Agency on Sunday confirmed 89 more positive cases of the virus, bringing the total number of cases to there 1,806.

In the past 24 hours, 511 tests were carried out, 77 of those taking place at the SSE Testing Centre in Belfast.

A total of 12,199 individuals in Northern Ireland have now been tested for coronavirus.
