Coronavirus UK LIVE: Boris Johnson shuts all pubs and restaurants as Government pledges to pay 80% of wages of employees not working

The Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants have been told to close tonight in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak also unveiled an 'unprecedented' package of measures to protect the income of workers who may lose their jobs during the crisis.

The Government has pledged to pay up to 80% of wages for those unable to work.

It comes as teachers will be asked to grade their pupils based on their own assessments after GCSE and A-level exams were cancelled.
