Coronavirus: Two new Lothians COVID-19 cases confirmed by Scottish Government

There a two new confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the Lothians, with 27 found throughout Scotland, the Scottish Government has said.

The total confirmed in Glasgow is three cases.

The latest numbers of coronavirus in Scotland are published by the Government daily at 2pm.

A total of 2234 tests have been conducted in Scotland since the start of the outbreak.

The Scottish Government has warned up to 80 per cent of the population could become infected, with potentially 4 per cent of this group requiring hospital treatment.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon urged restraint on panic buying as worried Scots clear the shelves of essential items like toilet roll as well as hand sanitiser.

The UK Government has also activated its "fake news' unit to tackle disinformation related to the virus.

The outbreak has wreaked havoc on Italy, with their prime minister placing the entire country on lock down and implementing travel bans to attempt to contain the virus.
