According to the Department of Health, coronavirus presents with flu-like symptoms including a fever, a cough, or difficulty breathing.

The current evidence is that most cases appear to be mild.

Those who have died in Wuhan, where the outbreak began, appear to have had pre-existing health conditions.

According to a man who wants to remain anonymous, the guest has called 111 and is currently waiting for a health professional to be sent out to assess him.

They told the Echo: "A man has decided to self-quarantine himself in his room after he started showing symptoms of coronavirus.

"He's recently returned from Thailand and has now decided to stay inside his room.

"He has called 111 and is waiting for someone from the NHS to come out and see him to confirm it.

"But he's been staying in the hotel for the last three days and has used the restaurant and the bar and other facilities.

"There are hundreds of people staying in the hotel so it could have already spread in that time.
