Coronavirus: Three more deaths recorded at hospitals across Bristol

The deaths of three more people from coronavirus have been recorded in the past 24 hours at hospitals in the Bristol area, the latest figures show.

The latest figures issued by NHS Trusts in the region show that the number of people who have died with coronavirus has increased again.

At the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust, the total number of deaths increased from 132 on Friday to 134.

Those deaths did not necessarily occur in the past 24 hours, but have been added to the register in the past 24 hours.

The UHBW trust runs the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital - following a merger on April 1 - as well as several other hospitals in Bristol.

Three coronavirus deaths have been recorded since the pandemic began at Weston General Hospital.

North Bristol NHS Trust has recorded one further death since 4pm on Friday, taking the total number of deaths to 117.

The number of new cases of coronavirus across the wider Bristol area however has remained somewhat static.

In Bristol there are now 711 recorded cases - up two from Friday.

The number cases in North Somerset is 471 and has not increased.

The number of cases has also remained the same in Bath and North Somerset (236) and in South Gloucestershire which has 405 confirmed cases.
