Coronavirus: This Morning's Dr Zoe demands test as she self-isolates with symptoms

Dr Zoe Williams told This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield she has been suffering from Coronavirus, she believes, amid the COVID-19 pandemic across the world.

With cases rising and new advice given about the outbreak, many with symptoms of the infection are isolating themselves.

People are no longer being tested for the virus, with calls for NHS staff to be tested with them being on the frontline.

Dr Zoe hasn't had confirmation that she has the virus, but believes she does because of her symptoms and her sudden illness.

Zoe became unwell on the weekend, feeling feverish, achy and exhausted.

While she seems to be coming out the other side of it, she urged testing for NHS staff such as herself to be implemented for safety reasons.

She also revealed her symptoms were pretty minor in comparison to those that others have experienced.

Zoe said: "I started feeling unwell on Saturday, just with a headache and over the next couple of hours I felt feverish, achy and absolutely exhausted.

"I felt rough but I’ve had worse with bad tonsillitis. At no point did I feel I'd need the NHS service or that I was in danger.

"48 hours later I came out the other end of it, I'm still feeling rough but I feel like I've just got a cough now."

She added: "It knocked me off my feet for a couple of days but now it's not the worst thing in the world."

Zoe believes she picked up the virus from work, and is now calling for the testing of NHS staff to be implemented.

She told Holly and Phil: "It's frustrating for me, I haven't been tested and I think I’ve had it."

"It would be great for me knowing I’ve had the virus," she said, explaining how it would give her "confidence I have immunity" so she can continue to help others.

She concluded: "Testing for NHS staff is imperative."

This Morning continues weekdays at 10am on ITV.
