All swimming pools and libraries will close in South Ayrshire from today as the lockdown continues over coronavirus fears.
The council has already shut all customer service centres, including the Wallace Tower in Ayr and those in Girvan, Maybole, Prestwick and Troon.
Golf and bowling green club houses are also locked up but greens will still be maintained and available for use.
In addition museums and galleries will shut from today.
South Ayrshire Council asked residents who need to get in touch with customer service centres to telephone 0300 123 0900 or go to the council website.
The customer centres deal with benefit issues, council tax, housing and a wide range of other enquiries.
The Kyle Street Housing Option Office and Riverside Housing Office are also shut.
People who are in financial crisis and need grants, food bank vouchers or advice can also phone the council on 0300 123 0900.
A statement said the council is “working hard” to ensure critical services keep running including home care, community alarms, child and adult protection services, homeless services and others.
The statement said: “We would like to reassure residents and service users that we are doing everything we can to reduce the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on our ability to deliver services.
“We are working hard to ensure the critical and essential services that make a difference to communities every day continue to operate.
“We have therefore had to take a number of steps to ensure we can deliver services to those who need us most, to prevent further spread of the virus, and to protect employee and public health.”
