Coronavirus: Susanna Reid orders fake tan and hair dye in isolation but doesn't have enough food

Susanna Reid has admitted she's ordered fake tan and hair dye for her self-isolation period but doesn't have enough food.

The Good Morning Britain host, 49, has been staying at home after her son developed a dry cough, one of the symptoms of the coronavirus.

The government has told anyone with symptoms and those who live with them to stay at home for 14 days to prevent the spread of the highly-infectious condition.

Susanna has revealed her worry about having enough supplies but looking her best is still important to her.

Writing in her Daily Mail column, she admitted that she only has enough food for 14 days.

Susanna said: "Once I had got over the initial shock that this was really happening, I started worrying about supplies.

"With a two-week wait for a Tesco delivery, I realised I would have to get very inventive with the groceries I've got. Seriously, have you seen how much food teenage boys eat?"

She added: "I'm following Kirstie Allsopp's lead and stocking up on hair dye and root touch up.

"I've also popped some extra spray tan on my delivery order."

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday via video link, Susanna said she hadn't been suffering any symptoms of coronavirus herself.

Explaining the reason behind her self-isolating, she said: "One of the boys has a cough, persistent cough, and that came on yesterday.

"Before the briefing yesterday, the person themselves had to be confined by themselves."

There has now been a total of 2,626 coronavirus cases across the UK.

104 people have now died from the virus.
