Coronavirus: Submit your questions on lockdowns and household mixing after Boris Johnson announcement

Today our journalists will be here to answer your questions about the science and the politics of the UK's coronavirus response.

At 3pm, Head of Politics Jason Beattie and Health Editor Martin Bagot will be here to cut through some of the confusion, provide analysis and react to the address to the Commons by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The Prime Minister told MPs the UK had reached a "perilous turning point" in the crisis and further action was needed.

He unveiled a raft of new lockdown measures - including £200 fines for rule flouters, a new 'work from home' plea, limits on sporting activities and a 10pm curfew for pubs and resraurants.

On Monday, Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance stepped before TV cameras to address the nation with stark warnings of Covid-19 cases on the rise in the UK.

The country's two chief advisers appeared, without a politician present, to share the latest coronavirus data.

During the press conference, the Chief Medical Officer warned: "We have to break unnecessary links between households, because that is the way in which this virus is transmitted. This means reducing social contacts, whether they are at work… and also in social environments."

The summer has seen ever changing Government guidance, resulting in the latest "Rule of 6". But the new rule has many exemptions and members of the public can be left wondering where they stand and how they can do the right thing within the rules.
