All waste and recycling collection services have been suspended temporarily in South Lanarkshire.
The authority announced their decision on social media this morning.
The made the decision in order to “review working arrangements in light of government advice on social distancing during the current coronavirus issues.”
South Lanarkshire Council’s Facebook post stated: “We are working with our workforce to establish safe systems of work and are aiming to resume services as soon as possible.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and ask that residents please ensure bins are presented at the kerbside on the correct day until further notice.
“Bins due for collection today should be left out until further notice.
“More information will follow as soon as possible.”
