Coronavirus Scotland: Two more people die from virus as hospital death toll hits 2,105

A total of 2,105 people have died in Scottish hospitals after testing for positive for coronavirus - a rise of two on yesterday’s figures.

The Scottish Government also confirmed that a further 57 Scots have now tested positive for Covid-19, taking the total number of cases to 14,394.

Those currently being treated in hospital with confirmed or suspected case of the virus stands at 1,427.

A total of 63 people remain in intensive care with the virus.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced the figures earlier (Daily Record)

As of March 5, a total of 3,354 have been discharged from hospital after recovering from coronavirus.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon revealed the latest Scots statistics during the Government’s daily coronavirus press briefing on Monday.

It comes after people gathered in public places across the country over the weekend to protest against lockdown measures.

A 41-year-old was arrested for an alleged breach of the peace after  a small demonstration  in  Glasgow.

The event in Glasgow Green was one of four in Scotland, with others at the city's Queens Park, Holyrood Park in Edinburgh, and Dundee.

Three warnings were issued to people at the Queens Park gathering.
