Coronavirus Scotland: Police launch new online form for public to report covid-19 breaches

Police Scotland have launched a new online form for members of the public to report covid lockdown breaches.

With mainland Scotland remaining under level four restrictions, it is forbidden to travel to other local authorities or host people in homes, with the exception of essential reasons.

And now Scots can report everything from gatherings to individuals not wearing face coverings or businesses not following the rules.

It comes as police urge people not to call 101 or 999 to report coronavirus breaches, tweeting that "Misuse of 101 and 999 could cost lives."

Police Scotland said in a statement: "Our online reporting form for reporting  #COVID19  breaches is now live."

"Make sure you understand the rules around gatherings for your area, via The Scottish Government, before you get in touch with us."

In a separate post, they added: "Don't call 101 or 999 for guidance on #COVID19 restrictions. Misuse of 101 and 999 could cost lives You can report an ongoing breach of COVID-19 restrictions in Scotland using our online form."

You can view the form here.
