Coronavirus Scotland: No deaths recorded overnight with 11 new cases confirmed

No people in Scotland have died overnight from  coronavirus  as the total hospital death toll remained at 2,488.

The number of positive cases has risen to 18,287 which is an increase of 11 from Friday’s figures.

A total of 429 people are being treated for confirmed or suspected Covid-19 in hospital - 19 of which are in intensive care.

The latest figures were announced by the Scottish Government at 2pm on Saturday.

They come as some Scots plan to travel to England for their first pint since lockdown began more than three months ago.

Publicans on the English side of the border have revealed that up to a third of their bookings are Scottish people looking to take advantage of the rules relaxing there first.

Drinkers in Scotland will have to wait until Monday for beer gardens to open again or July 15 when pubs are expected to reopen fully.
