Coronavirus Scotland: Nicola Sturgeon's latest July lockdown rule changes and what they mean for you

Scotland's First Minister announced the final easing of phase two measures last week as the country prepares for phase three.

The latest rules change saw children allowed play outdoors with friends from Friday, while the five-mile leisure travel limit has also now been lifted.

This means you can now holiday in self-catering, self-contained accommodation, although the wider tourism industry is not set to restart until 15 July.

And, there's much more to come. While further restrictions will be relaxed this week, new rules are coming into force that Scots need to be aware of.

This week beer gardens will be allowed to reopen from Monday (6 July), which means you can grab a pint weather permitting - but indoor areas will remain closed.

What's more, from Friday (10 July) people can meet indoors with up to two other households, as well as meet people from  more than  two households outdoors.

Meanwhile, many more businesses will reopen the following week.

Everything from hairdressers and barbers, to museums, monuments, cinemas and pubs and restaurants indoor areas get the go ahead from Wednesday 15 July.

On the flip side, it's important to note that you have to now wear face mask on public transport and they are also to become mandatory in shops from Friday 10 July.
