Coronavirus Scotland latest: map shows exactly where new cases are in Edinburgh and Lothians

Nicola Sturgeon today announced in her daily coronavirus briefing that a total of 267 new cases had been confirmed overnight.

Of the cases announced today, 105 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 45 in Lothian, 40 Lanarkshire, 16 in Grampian, 15 are in Forth Valley.

A new chart produced by Travelling Tabby shows exactly where the new cases in Edinburgh and the Lothians have been recorded.

Of today's new cases in the NHS Lothian area, 20 were in the Edinburgh City area, 6 in West Lothian, 5 in Midlothian and 7 in East Lothian.

In the last seven days, Edinburgh City has recorded 108 new coronavirus cases, West Lothian has seen 24, Midlothian has had 17 and East Lothian has recorded 35.

According to the site, the total number of people tested for coronavirus in Scotland is now up to 700,387, which means that 12.82% of Scotland's population have now been tested for the virus.

Of today's new cases across Scotland, 105 of the positive tests were from the 25-44 age bracket category, with 70 from the 45-64 category and 30 in the 20-24 group.

In her briefing today, Nicola Sturgeon refused to rule out imposing a curfew when asked about the possibility.

Speaking of other countries, including Belgium, that have imposed strict curfews, the First Minister said she hoped to avoid the strict measure, but that everything was under review.
