Coronavirus Scotland: Four new positive cases in past 24 hours

The Scottish Government have confirmed four new cases of coronavirus in Scotland in the past 24 hours.

All of the four cases were recorded in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde region.

The total number of positive cases across Scotland stands at 18,551. In the Glasgow area, this figure now stands at 4,953.

Furthermore, no deaths of people who tested positive for Covid-19 have been recorded for ten consecutive days. The death toll stands at 2,491.

The percentage of people testing positive remains at 0.2%, Scottish Government figures show, down from 0.7% from Saturday.

Following the publication of today's figures, Nicola Sturgeon admitted she was 'very relieved' there have been no new coronavirus deaths recorded in Scotland over the past 24 hours.

She Tweeted: "Very relieved to report yet another day in Scotland with no deaths of people who had tested positive for COVID.

"The four new positive cases (0.2% of people newly tested) will be looked at closely and followed up through Test & Protect.

"Please keep following all the #FACTS advice."
