Coronavirus Scotland: Four more deaths recorded as cases rise by 764

Four more people have sadly died in Scotland as a result of coronavirus.

The Scottish Government confirmed the news this afternoon, while also announcing 764 new covid cases have been recorded.

The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic now stands at 31,451.

299 of the 764 newly recorded cases in Scotland are in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde region.

The Scottish Government this afternoon advised:

  • 764 new cases of COVID-19 reported; this is 12.1% of newly tested individuals
  • 4 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
  • 23 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
  • 191 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
  • 22,144 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
