Coronavirus Scotland: Figures show 447 confirmed dead while 15 Ayrshire residents are being treated in intensive care

The number of people who have died after contracting the coronavirus in Scotland has risen to 447, it has been announced today.

That is an increase of 81 from yesterday.

In the Ayrshire and Arran region another 50 people have tested positive for coronavirus during the last 24 hours.

The confirmation means that the total number of confirmed people with the deadly virus in the region has risen to 362.

New data released by the Scottish Government has also revealed 94 people in the region are in hospital - with 15 of those in intensive care.

Yesterday we revealed 27 people with coronavirus have tragically died in Ayrshire and Arran so far.

A total of 4,957 people have now tested positive in Scotland - a daily rise of 392. 200 patients who tested positive were in intensive care last night.

So far 27,518 tests have been conducted in Scotland with 22,561 of them coming back as negative.
