Coronavirus Scotland daily figures published with 147 new cases in Lothian

A total of 1155 people have tested positive for coronavirus across Scotland in the last 24-hours – a decrease of 46 on Thursday's figure.

Health Secretary Jeane Freeman confirmed that 5.8 per cent of all tests were positive, and this takes the total number of cases recorded throughout the country since the pandemic began to 177,688.

Of these new cases 147 were in the Lothian area, with 337 in Greater Glasgow and Clyde and 207 in Lanarkshire.

The number of people receiving treatment in Scotland's hospitals is 1958 and this represents a decrease of 25 on yesterday's figure. A total of 144 patients are in intensive care units – up by two.

70 additional deaths were registered in the last 24-hours, and this takes the total number under this measurement to 6040.
