A further 1,707 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland – including 124 in Ayrshire.
New figures released by the Public Health Scotland also show 64 Covid deaths have been recorded nationwide in the last 24 hours.
Six of those were in North Ayrshire and one in East Ayrshire.
There remains 210 people battling the disease in NHS Ayrshire and Arran hospitals.
The number of patients in intensive care, within the health board region, now stands at 14 – a rise of four on yesterday.
Nationally, 1,829 patients are in hospital; 142 in intensive care.
Latest figures also show 208,207 people have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 3,190 have received their second dose.
Symptoms of coronavirus...
The symptoms of coronavirus are:
- a cough
- a high temperature
- shortness of breath
- a loss of taste and smell
But these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness.
The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu.
How to avoid catching or spreading coronavirus...
- wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
always wash your hands when you get home or into work
use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
