Coronavirus Scotland: Ayrshire College set to close as students prepare to study from home

Ayrshire College chiefs are getting set to close their doors due to the coronavirus.

From Friday, face-to-face lectures will be suspended and students are being advised to go in this week to discuss arrangements with staff.

The college, which has campuses in Ayr, Kilmarnock and Kilwinning, has over 15,000 students who partake in their courses.

A college statement last night said: "Following today's announcements by the UK and Scottish governments, we will be suspending face-to-face teaching with effect from 4pm on Friday, March 20.

"We would ask students to come into college this week, as per their timetables, to discuss arrangements with their lecturers or, alternatively, to be in touch by phone or email.
